File Submission

File submission

It can be a bit confusing knowing how to supply your artwork files to a printer, especially if you’ve never done it before. So hopefully these guidelines should help. If at the end you are a little bamboozled and not sure, just ask.

PDFS

We prefer files to be supplied as PDFs, which should be in single-page format; spreads should only be used for perfect bound covers. All pages in the document should be the same size and centred.

Images

Images, pictures, logos and any other artwork should be at least 300dpi at the size used in the document.

Text

All fonts must be embedded.

Colours

All RGB should be converted to CMYK. We use CMYK workflow technology, which is calibrated and maintained to a recognised ISO industry standard. This enables us to provide the highest quality print with correct colour resolution.

Bleed

Any artwork that is ‘going off’ the edge of the page should have tick marks and a minimum 3mm bleed outside those tick marks. This means that when your beautifully printed document is trimmed, there won’t be a pesky white border around it.

How to supply

Once you’re done, you can supply your print-ready files via Dropbox, FTP or email.

Not going so well?

If your artwork doesn’t adhere to the preferred format, you may be required to resupply the artwork or allow us to make the corrections. We will discuss any amendments with you beforehand and you will incur additional costs if work is undertaken by Oxuniprint to correct.

Again, if you’re still not sure about any aspect of file submission, just get in touch to ask.
